Usher movies4/18/2023 ![]() ![]() To the audience, the experience is effortless: come in, sit, and lose yourself in a show for a. Usher star in this labyrinthine whodunit with Sasha Alexander and Elliott Gould. Its specialty is making things look easy. I will also add that the finale packed a nice little punch. A broke caregiver unexpectedly inherits her patients estate, but dark secrets swirl around her newfound wealth, tangling her in deceit and danger. The cinematography was good and there's certainly some nice visuals throughout. In fact, I thought Harrington was quite good in the role of Usher and he certainly did look like Poe himself! I also thought Nepita was good in his part. I had a really hard time staying focused on the material but that's not to say there's nothing here. Frank is planning a surprise party for his daughter Dolly, who is coming home from law school for summer break. I think the biggest problem is that there are just too many scenes that have no real point and the thing begins to drag at times. While working in New York’s hottest night club, disc jockey Darrell Williams ( Usher) is asked to DJ a party for his friend Frankie, Jr.s (Anthony Fazio) mob boss father Frank, whom Darrells father worked for. This short runs at 36 minutes and while there are visually a lot of interesting things going on and some good performances, there's no question that you really have a hard time staying drawn into the material. Upon arriving, however, he discovers that Roderick and his sister, Madeline, have been afflicted with a mysterious malady: Roderick’s senses have become painfully acute, while Madeline has become nearly catatonic. When director Harrington was sixteen he made his first film based on this Edgar Allan Poe tale so it's rather interesting that he would end his career the same way.
